A NetID account is required for access to most Texas A&M University information systems. A NetID account allows the account holder to authenticate on any application using the Central Authentication Service or the NetID Active Directory Services password service.

Access SSO using your NetID
You are able to access SSO with your TAMU NetID and is the preferred way to access that portal since it allows you to have one universal account. To do so see the picture below to use the TAMU authentication system instead of your UIN.
DUO (2 Factor Authentication)
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security, keeping your NetID account secure even if your password is compromised. Once you have enrolled, you will be alerted right away (on your Duo-enrolled device) if someone is trying to log in as you.
Protecting our students, employees, data, systems, and assets against cyber threats is a priority for Texas A&M University and the Division of Information Technology. NetID Two-Factor Authentication (Duo) is a key component of our plan to secure the campus IT infrastructure. To enhance security and comply with Texas A&M System Regulation 29.01.03, we will continue to roll-out multi-factor authentication across campus.
Enroll Multiple methods of 2FA – Most people will use the DUO app on your smartphone as the primary method to use DUO with as it is the easiest and simplest way to use DUO. However you can register multiple ways to perform the 2nd factor, some of these are;
- Registering your Office and/or Home Phone as a backup phone numbers
- Buying a physical device such as a YubiKey or Hardware Token
Having alternate methods to perform the 2nd factor gives you flexibility and backups in the event you do not have your primary device. For example if you leave your phone at home, lose your phone, upgrade to a new phone, etc.
When traveling internationally many people do not have cell phone data access and are not able to use the push notification method. There is a manual option within the DUO app that works even if you do not have a data connection.
|Tapping on the down arrow will show you the passcode. You can use that passcode to login at the DUO prompt highlighted in red.|
If you do not want to travel with your phone then purchasing the Hardware Token is the best option. It will mimic the passcode option in the mobile app but is a completely standalone device.
